This article is relevant to graduates of the IOPN MSc in Sports Nutrition (PGDip, MSc Top-Up) pathway or MSc in Sports Nutrition (Top-Up).
Is the IOPN MSc SENr accredited?
Not currently. The IOPN MSc in Sports Nutrition is a University of Portsmouth validated MSc award, delivered by IOPN through an approved collaborative partnership with the University of Portsmouth. We are currently seeking formal clarification from SENr regarding the programme’s eligibility for SENr accreditation.
At present, completion of the IOPN MSc should not be understood as providing automatic eligibility for SENr Graduate Registration. SENr states that graduates of SENr-accredited postgraduate courses are automatically eligible to join the SENr Graduate Register. The IOPN MSc is not currently listed as an SENr-accredited course.
SENr also publishes a route for applicants who have completed non-SENr-accredited MSc courses. Under this route, applicants may still apply for SENr Practitioner Registration, but must provide additional evidence for individual assessment against SENr competency requirements.
IOPN cannot guarantee the outcome of any SENr application, as registration decisions are made independently by SENr. However, we can provide graduates with relevant academic documentation to support individual portfolio or competency-based applications where appropriate.
We will update this guidance once SENr provides formal clarification.
